Panoramic App For Sony Xperia X10

Sony further enhances their imaging technology as they launch their official panorama app for the Xperia X10. It allows users of the X10 to capture high resolution panoramas without going through the hassle of the stitching process. Officially called the "Panorama Beta", it tells us that this app is still in progress and under developed but Sony promised phenomenal results already so there's no harm in trying.

Panorama Beta App for Sony Xperia X10

Tha app only works for the Xperia X10 in firmware version 2.1 (Official Android 2.1 ROM) but certainly Sony will be releasing a panoramic for the rest of its smartphone collections soon. This wouldn't quite work in all Android smartphones Xperia arc and Xperia PLAY , but we are sure custom ROMs can try this fix. Follow these steps created by xda-developer, zdzihu at the XDA Forums:

Flash panorama-fix-z.zip via xRecovery 0.3
Reboot
Install the Panorama apk

How to Use Panorama Beta Sony Xperia X10:

Select an environment you want to capture in panorama, select your direction, press the capture button, then finally pan the camera.

Easy and very effective to use. One issue brought up by users is that the photos go into /sdcard/Panorama and not into /sdcard/DCIM/100ANDRO but hey, this is a beta app. Your comments and suggestions will surely help improve this smartphone app. Post them all here.

Graphic Design student Pat was featured recently for using and posting panorama image results from the Xperia X10. In his blog he said, "...from my play time it is very good and well worth downloading."
