360-degree Canvas Installation Great For Company Exhibits

One of the top advantages of seeing something in 360 degrees is that you get to see everything of your subject. Famous artist and architect Ron Arad took his inspirations from this technology and installed 5,600 silicon rods, 8.1m high, creating an 18m diameter 360-degree canvas at the London Roundhouse, forming like curtains hence the name, “Curtain Call”.

Ron invited his favourite artists Babis Alexiadis, Hussein Chalayan, Mat Collishaw, Ori Gersht, Greenaway & Greenaway, Christian Marclay, Javier Mariscal, SDNA, David Shrigley, and students from the Royal College of Art to participate in this time-lapsed event. Ron had Bloomberg to sponsor this event and Bitz communication for the technology that he needed to make this interactive concept into reality. “This breathtaking 360-degree installation is simply stunning and we’re proud to be involved with our partner Blitz Communications.”

With the Roundhouse being round, Ron had the perfect opportunity to allow people to walk through the swinging curtain and interact directly with the 360 degree video images. According to Ron, “When I thought about the design I knew it was going to be unique and different. The Roundhouse is a round building so the installation had to celebrate this form. I had an idea of how it was going to look but the result has been better than my expectation. It has been a great journey”.
