So my 360 degree panorama friends, have you heard the news? Last week, Occipital finally offered android users what their 360 Panorama app magic is like. We have heard of this amazing app late last year and after they officially launched it to iOS users, we know for a fact it won’t take long for Occipital to create one for other smartphone platforms like the Android. By introducing this to the Android world, the 360 Panorama app is now Android’s first real-time panorama creator. Other apps that are active in the market right now requires users to manually capture images to images then the stitching process. With the 360 panorama app, you just move your Android phone to the direction you want to capture, then automatically it creates the panoramic photo for you. As Simple as that.
According to Vikas Reddy, Founder of Occipital, ““The gyro viewing feature isn’t enabled yet on Android because we focused on features that could make it work even on devices that don’t have a gyro. For the devices that do have gyro support, we will add support in the next update.” Indeed a very great year for Occipital, 2008 TechStars grad. It is now a very popular app development conpany since 360 Panorama. In fact, they were the ones behind now eBay’s Red Laser barcode scanner. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Now if you were an iOS user or used the 360 Panorama using an Apple device, you might ask what’s the difference? Does Occipital provide the same feature? Maybe better. The app can work without a gyroscope. It is using your phones default motion tracking algorithms to be able to establish a gyroscope. This feature is so awesome the 360 Panorama app might probably even work on iPhone 3GS.
