X is for X-Ray – The Newest Interactive 360 Degree App For Kids

As parents, we want the best for our kids. We want the best shelter, the best education, the best lifestyle, etc. Growing up, we see how they do things to get what they want. “Dad, do you love me?” “Of course, son.” “Can you get me an iPad for Christmas?” That sweet simple conversation, you’re all out to buy an iPad. Not good parenting for some but who are you not to give one when you can?

Good thing the iPad can be an educational tool for kids as well. With all these popular interactive learning apps under different sibjects like Science, Religion, History, Math or even as simple as phonetics and alphabets, sure iPad is great for teaching.

One educational alphabet-learning app growing popular by the minute is the X is for X-Ray app. Long and unique for an app name, but this app is the learning bomb! It makes your kids curious about everything they see. Why? This interactive application provides X-ray on and off vision, 360 degree rotation and zooming features in all alphabets examples – from an A is an Accordion to Z is a Zipper. What’s even more cool is that your kids can put a pair of stereoscopic glasses to view alphabets on 3D. Famous British photographer, artist and radiologist Hugh Turvey photographed all these.

According to Maggie Koerth-Baker, app reviewer, “Unsurprisingly, this gimmick works better for some letters than others. A flower, for instance, doesn't make for the most exciting x-ray to look at. Nor does a piggy bank. But the internal combustion engine more than makes up for those brushes with mediocrity. If you put the engine photo in x-ray mode and rotate it, the image comes to life. Suddenly, you're not just looking at the insides of a piece of mechanical technology, you're watching them work—pistons pumping and cranks turning. It's really neat and strikingly beautiful.”
