Rupert Murdoch's The Daily iPad app has finally hit the UK after launching it in the US 7 months ago. Considered to be the first daily news, entertainment and sports publication app ever created and desiged from scratch for your iPad, The Daily is now providing old style news gathering and delivery in the UK in a contemporary digital platform. It says to offer 100 pages of original content daily for the rest of the year.

Although there are news and publishing companies who had their iPad apps launched earlier, The Daily iPad app sure has its own interactive features as well. It offers 360 degree views of news photos, immersive multimedia environment using your device's capacitive multi-touch screen. One of the distinct feature of The Daily, probably one of its elements that set it apart from the rest is that it provides a lot images in their news reports. This is highly recommended for those who hate heavy text news.

Jamie Slattery from KnowyourMobile.com says this however for UK users to reflect on, "Another gripe we have with The Daily is that its news isn’t all that UK-focussed. It feels very much like a US newspaper, despite the UK political and sports coverage. If we’re honest we do like The Daily and, we admit, there is something nice about getting a paper delivered to your iPad everyday. But will people choice The Daily over, say, The Times or The Telegraph, which both have extremely competent and well stocked iPad editions. We’re not sure. Given time, maybe. But we’re not holding our breath on that front."
