So last week on 360 degree photography news, 360-degree motion stereoscopic camera system from MIT is everywhere. From our daily forums to subscribed newsletter, they are all talking about it. Do you know that moment when all of your tech buddies are all pumped up with the idea and there you are eating Nachos, watching tv, not giving care at all? No matter how we sometimes feel that way, there is still that itch inside of use curious about 360-degree motion stereoscopic camera system.
At the top of our heads, we knew this has something to do with 3D imaging which is why most of our friends are so excited about. MIT recently developed a camera rig that will allow viewers to watch stereoscopic 3D movies in 360 degrees. Funded under NASA, MIT created this rig to provide an immersive environment all around viewers. This concept is already old and has been included in various forums already. However with MIT making this possible, all mouths are shut. According to Market Watch, “A new panoramic 3D motion picture camera rig developed will be tested by Colorado education leaders and community partners to visualize the schools of tomorrow.” Highly anticipated by different learning institutes, this 360-degree motion stereoscopic camera system rings bells to the film industry as well. Invented by Eric Prechtl, Ray Sedwick together with Eric Jonas, this stereoscopic camera system is built with multiple cameras for high resolution images with a wide FOV Database. With this, images are combines in real time which is incredibly brilliant! “New image blending techniques take image data that is transmitted wirelessly and provide an extended panoramic view in which the combined images form a full circle, or movie cyclorama. Images can also be combined so that the cycloramic view extends upwardly or downwardly to create a continuous, unobstructed, omnidirectional image that extends a full 4 pi steradians” Are you interested? Go sign up and get updates or maybe the actual 360-degree motion stereoscopic camera system from MIT for real?
