Just within this year, there were quite a number of tragic incidents directly caused by nature that affected millions of lives in different parts of this planet. We are all left with questions unanswered. Which part did we miss? Why didn’t we all see these phenomenon happen? If we did, why aren’t we all prepared? No place and time for blaming and regrets. Guess all we need to do is be aware of it all. One way to expose letting the public know of what is really going is through effective 360-degree photography. Still images seem not to sink in. With the interactive 360 degree technology, more and more people feel that they are in the damaged area themselves.
Just last month, Margaret River in Western Australia experience crazy bushfires which dramatically destroyed more than 40 properties. 360 degree video specialist for three years, John Copeland created an interactive video of the damage caused by the bushfires. His immersive 360-degree video allows viewers to see not only what the camera allows them to see but allows them to control what they see. They can interactively scroll up, down, left and right to see the real damage the bushfire caused. According to Copeland, “Virtual video's only really been available online in the last six months because of Internet speeds, although we have been able to do it probably over the last two to three years.” It was very difficult to expose these kinds of video to the public because according to him, “There was no way of showing it online before that. We were just sort of waiting for the right time to spring it online.'' Experience the after effects of the Margaret River Bushfire here: http://bit.ly/vwwXl0
