Skulls by Simon Winchester is a stunning, richly illustrated iPad title that advances the interactive book format pioneered by Touch Press with The Elements and Solar System.
As dead as they already are, contemporary collector Alan Dudley, photographer Nick Mann, and author Simon Winchester (Atlantic, Krakatoa: The Day The World Exploded and The Professor and The Madman) found eternal love collecting animal Skulls. That love my friends, is so strong he decides to share it with us by creating a downloadable iPad app entitled Skulls. This is another way of educating the public the study, art, and life in Skulls. Skulls ipad app features an impressive 360 degree photography presentation of his minimum collection of 30 animal skulls.
The versatility of collecting skulls is very evident in the Skulls app as the collection is presented in two orientations. In portrait, users can read text in black clearly on a white background about origin, discovery, trivia, and more. On the other hand, users get to experience an inversion of colors on landscape orientation. The Skulls ipad app offer rich content about different animal skulls narrated clearly by author himself.
Its 360 degree feature allows you to rotate skulls in different direction for a better exploration. Also using your fingertips, you can pinch to zoom high resolution skulls in and out and be able to rotate it easily even when the pictures is highly magnified. If you can’t wait to rotate animal Skulls on your iPads, download it here. "Above all else, I am a storyteller. The book is simply a device to deliver information to a reader. The real victim may be the bookstore."
